25 Years of Scansonic – Innovation and Expertise in Laser-Based Production

06. Jan 2025

This year, Scansonic proudly celebrates 25 years of excellence. Founded in 1998 by mechanical engineer Igor Haschke, the company has grown to become a leading provider of innovative solutions in laser-based production technologies.

A Clear Vision from the Start
From the outset, Scansonic pursued an ambitious goal: advancing laser-based production methods, particularly for the automotive industry. Right from the start, the company achieved a significant milestone by securing Volkswagen as its first customer – a step that laid the foundation for its future success.

One of the early achievements was the development of the Adaptive Laser Optics (ALO) system. Featuring a tactile seam tracking system, this technology set new industry standards by enabling precise, high-quality brazing of car bodies. This innovation established Scansonic as a reliable partner for cutting-edge industrial solutions.

Global Reach and a Comprehensive Portfolio
Today, Scansonic’s portfolio includes applications for laser welding, brazing, cutting, hardening, and cladding. With over 4,400 ALO systems delivered worldwide, the technology is widely utilized in car body manufacturing, e-mobility, and various other industries.

As part of its 25th-anniversary celebrations, Scansonic will reflect on key milestones and innovations that have shaped its journey on LinkedIn. This retrospective highlights the evolution of the company from a start-up to a global leader in laser-based production technologies.
